Recapping Alex Rodriguez
January 23rd, 2008
Alex Rodriguez has become the center of some controversy and it has become sad. He is going to be on his own away from his wife and daughter. Their daughter will be the real loser in this situation. I do believe that personally you need both a Mom and a Dad for it to work but that is just my take. Without going into this, for the record Alex Rodriguez is known as a guy who can hit in the regular season but post-season time, he fails to show up and be apart of the team to get them to the World Series. Why do you think he signed with the New York Yankees in the first place after leaving the Texas Rangers? He wanted the ring and he picked the place that had won the most championships
He had a little bit of a weight loss in body fat but mostly due to training for the 2007 season. However it wasn’t enough to get them out of the first round when they lost to the Cleveland Indians 3 games to 1 and soon performed perhaps his most controversial move in the baseball world. During the last game of the Boston Red Sox series, agent Scott Boras announced to the world that A-Rod was opting out, which was seen as unprofessional and selfish. Of course, he resigned with New York knowing full well that he would never get that huge amount of money anywhere outside of the Yankees organization
Despite that however, he has hit 553 Home Runs and at a pace to break Barry Bonds’s Home Run Record of 762 Home Runs and could do so barring injuries of course. Personally, I don’t think he’s a great defensive player but his offense is good. That is the one thing that cannot be denied. Though he has that bad playoff streak going for him and it has been there ever since he started with the Mariners and could never see the World Series. I am predicting that he will not see it as long as he is playing in the majors.
Back to the divorce, it is not going to work out for the family and would be best to work things out if at all possible. Unfortunatly because of his wealth there are other factors in play as well. For example, he owns alot of commercial property in east london, and going through a divorce means spliting the wealth. These things rather than being helpful is a hinderance. Who wouldn’t want to own large amounts of commercial property? But in a situation like this, the money gets in the way. His family overall will not be the winners, and you could put them in court but neither him nor his wife are true winners. That is just how I feel on that.
