Why I Limit The Use Of Banners In My Marketing
July 23rd, 2009

Many people when they start off marketing their business tend to rely on banners as their main marketing plan. Banners> are good and can be a very effective form of getting the word out on your business, however, I am a firm believer that you should implement more than one marketing strategy in your business.
I have found that although banners are a convenient and easy way to get people to your website or business, they are not as effective as the other forms of advertising below:
Article Marketing - Writing articles and linking to your website in the resource box is by far one of the best ways to drive targeted traffic to your business opportunity. It does take a little bit of effort on your part because you will need to write quite a few articles before you see any measurable results, however, in my opinion, this has been the most effective way that I have received visitors and made sales with my business.
Blogging - I absolutely love to post in my blog. I have several blogs and two of them are strictly for marketing my business. I post frequently with quality content and information that people want to read about. I optimize my blogs with long tail keywords and good titles and headlines so that search engines will pick them up and index them and yes, I even throw a few banners on my blogs to drive traffic that way. Blogs are a very effective way to market your business in my opinion.
Social Networking - This is another effective form of marketing that I have found for my business. I have joined a few good social network places and made my profile around myself and my business. Then, I simply interacted with other members and shared ideas, information and other things with them. In my experience, people naturally want to learn more about you and what you have to offer when you are being yourself and offering valuable information to them.
These are just a few forms of marketing I have found that work really well in addition to banners. Using a banner to advertise your business has been around for quite some time now, however, I feel that they are losing their power with the many other methods that are out there today. By all means, use them, however, do not limit yourself to them as you can be much more successful with a little bit of diversity.
