Bangkok mayhem

Whats all the fuss about of the sex industry of Bangkok I asked myself. When I got there I just had to check it out, so after checking into my hostel (no Luxury designer bedding for me) I met some guys and a few hours later into my first night in the city of madness, I found out.

We all decided to go to a ping pong show in Patpong which is the sex tourist area. When in Rome and all that!! We got a taxi and went to a ping pong show, and it was hilarious. Before we headed in we were acosted left, right and centre by touts trying to entice us in, and they were showing us price lists of what the ’performers’ would do. The guys refused and said we were window shopping - sure fire way to get a cheaper deal - they ALL want your custom, so when one place gave us the best deal of free entry and drink, we sauntered in, prepared to have our eyes opened in the weird and wonderful style of Thailands ping pong women. We couldn’t stop laughing the entire way through. The women on stage inserted darts and aimed them to pop balloons, they blew whistles and horns from there, pulled out entire lengths of flowered ropes and needles, used a pipe to blow out candles on a cake, smoked a cigarette from there (I wander if that causes cancer of the cervix???), inserted bananas and popped them out. One of the bananas was aimed at me and it went over my head and hit my back. The 2 guys were hilarious, they were ducking and hiding whilst squealing like little girls incase it hit them, then came the ping pongs. Tom was handed a bat, and the woman popped them all out at the audience and Tom was batting them back. I was crying with laughter, it was such an eye opener. There were a few groups in of men and women watching, then a few lone men where the Madame was trying to sell off the girls for an hour. Its so sleazy but entertaining, and I had to see a show at least once whilst in Bangkok.

It’s not sexy in the slightest, its pure sleaze and really quite disgusting, it makes you feel dirty just being in the district, and I want to scrub the women down with boiling water, bleach and a scrubbing brush, but if you are in Bangkok, it would be a shame to miss at least one show. This is part of what its about, and believe me it needs to be seen to be believed. It will give you the biggest laugh of your night!
