post Initiatives = Good Stuff

An initiative, back in my dad’s day, used to mean not getting spanked on the bum and going through the rest of the day without the ’burning hot heat’;on the buttocks. In my day, at school, it used to mean this: eat the semolina and don’t get in trouble, something which always resulted in ending up detention. And when I got out into the real-world, I discovered that initiatives were even thinner on the ground–in some places they were, disgustingly, entirely unheard of. My manager at a popular supermarket even said that he had never heard of the word. An incentive, he said, “was not getting the sack”. Sadly, other employers felt the same way. I was sent for long-waits, chequered-paint and other imaginary things instead. I thought it would never end–

But there are some people who are not like my first, second and third employers. There are people, like Enigin, who care enough to lay their cards on the table.

And incentives will undoubtedly play an enormous part in solving—if I may use that word–—our Planet’s horrifying ecological problems. Incentives join the hearts and minds of people all over the world, allowing trust to breed, and meaning that everyone works to their full potential. That means that the company and the employee is finally at one: in turn, the result is the company get more out of the employee, and the employee will earn money while he or she also achieves great things.
