Hurricane Irene Flips Cars On Ocracoke Island Video
As Hurricane Irene sweeps through Ocracoke Island and heads straight for the US panic goes through residents in Ocracoke Island as cars are flipped and trees are un rooted due to heavy winds.
Residents on Ocracoke Island have now been told to evacuate the Island after saftey concerns.A very brave passer by witnesses and records a car being flipped due to the high winds, the video shows the true brutality of the winds.Us weather forecasters warn that the storm is still gaining power and could easily be twice the size and power of the one witnessed in Ocracoke Island.Reporters and government officals request people to stay inside and to not make unnecceary trips unless instructed otherwise.Reporters say that this could possible be one of the worst Hurricanes since Katrina. Familys in Ocracoke Island told reporters as they were forced to leave their homes that they were scared and didn’t know what would happen to their possesions and their house.As schools in Ocracoke Island are forced to close and jobs abandoned this is the least of their worries as the usually peaceful island is turned into complete chaos by Hurricane Irene.Latest news reports that the Hurricane is heading towards North Caralina’s coast. People there are already protecting their houses with sand bags and other things. One person said "I have seen what has happened on Ocracoke Island and i am devastated by it"This hurricane is surely taking it’s toll on people as they become scared and hopeless as they watch there houses and belonging literally disppear infront of them.
